Who We Are
We’re a Sacramento-based social community for people who love music, dancing, going out, trying new things, and meeting new people. While NorCal Concert & Festival Crew originally started as a way to connect people who love music, over time it became something bigger: a community where people see each other regularly, really get to know one another, and build close, meaningful friendships.Today, community comes first. Music brought us together, and it’s still an important part of who we are—but the real goal is creating the kind of friendships that extend beyond any one concert, festival, or night out.We welcome people of all backgrounds and identities. Whether you’re a longtime festival-goer, someone who loves discovering new music, someone looking for people to dance with, or simply looking for a welcoming social community in Sacramento, there’s a place for you here.
What We Do
We get together regularly for weekly Wednesday Happy Hours, monthly brunches, Sacramento Sound Club meetings, live music, dancing, concerts, festivals, and other social adventures.Our weekly Wednesday Happy Hour is at the heart of our community. We laugh, catch up, tell stories, and often pull out question cards that take us beyond small talk and into conversations about our lives, relationships, dreams, fears, values, experiences, and the things that have shaped us. There’s plenty of fun and ridiculous conversation too—but underneath it all, we’re trying to really know each other.Our monthly brunch gives us another chance to slow down, spend time together, and strengthen those friendships.And through Sacramento Sound Club, we get to know each other through music—sharing our opinions, telling the stories behind the songs we love, and revealing a little more about ourselves along the way.And yes—we still go out! Every couple of months, we plan a music-centered adventure. That might mean seeing a local band, dancing somewhere in Sacramento, catching a concert, going to a rave or EDM event, or occasionally traveling for a larger show or festival. Sacramento is our home base, but we’re always down to venture to the Bay Area and beyond for something worth the trip.Music events may not happen as often as they did when the group first began, but music, concerts, festivals, and dancing are still part of our DNA. The difference is that now, the event itself isn’t the whole point. We’re experiencing it with people we’ve been getting to know week after week.
SACRAMENTO SOUND CLUB
Sacramento Sound Club is another major way we build connection—through music and meaning. Think of it like a book club for music. We share songs and albums, discover new artists, and have thoughtful conversations about what music means to us.A song can lead us into conversations about identity, nostalgia, culture, heartbreak, childhood, joy, grief, belonging, or a particular chapter of someone’s life. Sometimes learning why a song matters to someone tells you far more about them than simply knowing what they listen to.Sound Club is grounded in three core values:→ Listen intentionally

→ Build connectionThe goal isn’t to have the “right” opinion about music. It’s to listen closely, ask good questions, hear different perspectives, and use music as a doorway into meaningful conversation and deeper connection.Sound Club mainly communicates via our WhatsApp chat, but we come together in person for our meetings, usually at different restaurants in Downtown Sacramento. Members are usually added to the WhatsApp chat after attending a meeting or two, helping us keep the space genuine, active, and community-focused—and creating an environment where people feel comfortable sharing openly and being a little vulnerable.
